A Little About Me:
I was born and raised in the Northwest and my passion for photography began with my interest in capturing waterfalls in the Columbia Gorge about 10 years ago. I have always enjoyed hiking in the outdoors and find solace in the beauty of nature. My original inspiration came from Galen Rowell and Ansel Adams. My curiosity was excelled with the digital era and my purchase of a Nikon Coolpix 990 and even further when DSLR’s became more affordable with the introduction of the Canon 10D.
These last three years have been exciting as my hobby has evolved into a part time profession. I love that my images are snap shots of time of my experience and adventures to be shared with other people. I am happy to have expanded my business outside of print sales to include sharing my enthusiasm for photography through workshops and classes. Feel free to contact me with questions or welcomed feedback.
Image Processing:
I Process all my images using Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe CS6. My images are not HDR, but at times I do blend multiple images using layers in Photoshop to preserve highlight and shadow detail. My goal is to capture the image the best I can “in-camera” using various filters to minimize my post processing, but some scenes extreme dynamic range wont allow this to happen. I typically make small adjustments on layers and utilize Nik Filters + custom actions to speed the processing of my images.
